Flavors of Mexico is a private curator of premium agave products that offers retail purchases and free tastings of its special blends. It is nestled in the beautiful gardens of Isla Village next to Cafe 42, in Isla Mujeres. The team brings years of experience in the production of premium liquors and in the proper pairings of food.
What is a Mexican Cata?
Flavors of Mexico offers premium agave tastings and pairings centered around authentic Mexican spirits, regional traditions, and gourmet flavors. These unique experiences are available by reservation only, allowing guests to choose one of three tastings that best fit their group and the occasion. Designed for couples, families, friend groups, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette trips, and travelers looking for something beyond a typical dinner outing, the experience combines great hospitality with a guided introduction to Mexico's agave culture.
Each tasting lasts approximately two hours and includes a guided selection of five artisan mezcals from different regions and flavor profiles, two premium tequilas, and two cream liqueurs or specialty spirits.
Guests are guided through aromas, flavor notes, production methods, and the traditions behind each spirit, alongside pairings selected to complement the tasting experience. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, creating a personal setting focused on conversation, discovery, and Mexican hospitality. At the conclusion of the event, guests may visit the shop where one can find products featured during the Cata experience, along with souvenirs and gifts, which are available for purchase.
Intimate Charcuterie Tasting
The Intimate Charcuterie Tasting is a private tasting experience for groups of 4 to 12 guests, set in the outdoor gardens of Isla Village. Guests enjoy an abundant charcuterie board with cheeses, fruits, nuts, cured meats, and artisan accompaniments selected to pair with each tasting of five artisan mezcals, two premium tequilas, and two cream liqueurs or specialty spirits. Guided explanations cover the flavors, aromas, and traditions behind each spirit.
