The Animal Welfare Center (Centro de Bienestar Animal) opened in August 2025 to provide accessible services for owners and their dogs and cats in Isla Mujeres. Located on Carretera Garrafon beside the Refugio Anticiclónico and Loma Bonita, the center offers safe, modern facilities for medical care, temporary shelter, and responsible adoptions.

Weekly services include sterilization, consultations, parasite treatments, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and educational talks on pet care. The center also features a Pet Park, which is open to the public from Tuesday through Sunday, where pets can enjoy outdoor space and exercise.

Supported by the Municipal Government, the center reflects Isla Mujeres’ commitment to animal welfare, volunteers are also welcome to join and share their time to help care for the animals through walking and playing with them.
