Unwind in Style: Our Spa and Beach Day at Almare, Isla Mujeres

A day at Almare with the All Inclusive Day Pass With Spa is one of the best ways to unwind, and experience a memorable day of luxury, relaxation, food, drinks, sun, sea, and sand on Isla Mujeres. From the moment we arrived, the staff made everything feel easy and welcoming. We were greeted at the gate to confirm our reservation, and our taxi continued to the main lobby, where the reception team met us with the kind of hospitality that sets the tone for the entire experience. The lobby makes an immediate impression with its elegant Mayan-inspired details, featuring a chandelier reflecting the region’s cenotes and a Mayan calendar set into the floor.

We started our day at the spa, which was a standout experience on its own. Upon arrival, we were invited to create our own body scrub using natural local ingredients such as Las Coloradas salt, Isla Mujeres sand, Mexican coffee, sugar, hibiscus, and sage. From there, we were brought to the restrooms where we were given robes, slippers, lockers, and towels. The space was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need, including hair dryers, deodorant, and makeup remover wipes.

The spa experience was calm and indulgent from start to finish. We began in the steam room where they brought us our custom scrubs, then moved through the jet showers and into the wooden sauna. Outside, we alternated between the hot and cold showers, the ice bath, jacuzzi, and pool. There are loungers in this area as well, perfect for pausing between each step. One of the most unique features is the relaxation zone, where you lie on heated bean-shaped beds that feel like a warm cocoon. It was deeply peaceful and restorative.

After 90 minutes and several rounds through the rooms, our spa time ended and we made our way to the beach to enjoy the rest of the day. At the beach, fresh towels were ready at our loungers, and we ordered cocktails and lunch from The Breeze menu. The food and drinks were unlimited and of top quality, making it easy to relax and enjoy the peaceful ocean views without a care. We swam in the sea and stretched out under the sun, soaking in the calm atmosphere while enjoying these delicious dishes, and cocktails.

Later in the afternoon, we headed to the rooftop pool at Seasalt for more drinks and expansive views of Punta Sur, the bay between Isla Mujeres and Cancun, and Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It was the kind of place you could stay for hours. To wrap up the day, we returned to the main pool for a final swim, then stopped by Botanik for coffee and pastries before leaving.

From start to finish, everything felt refined, peaceful, and effortless. The staff were consistently thoughtful and professional, elevating the entire experience. Almare’s atmosphere is relaxed and upscale, created for guests to unwind in complete comfort. This adults-only resort offers calm luxury without ever feeling over the top.
