With a change of location in 2024, you can now find Ruben's on the island's main bar and restaurant strip Avenida Hidalgo, close to the main square. There is also a second location in the mid-island neighborhood of La Gloria, in the old location of Taqueria Cachirul, opposite the Salina. With both indoor air-conditioned seating, and outdoor seating you can enjoy good service, and delicious, inexpensive food and drinks. Ruben’s restaurant was created by Ruben Chavez Martinez, a well-known member of the community here on Isla Mujeres, because of his big heart, always there for the children of Isla Mujeres, and the adults also in need. Ruben Chavez Martinez passed away in September 2020 after hospitalization due to Covid-19 with underlying health issues. He is missed!
