If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican experience while visiting Isla Mujeres, you should be sure not to miss CantaRitos on the island’s main bar and restaurant strip, Avenida Hidalgo, in downtown Isla Mujeres. This bar and restaurant promises to offer a Mexican-style experience with refreshing drinks, delicious food and great music. Opened in March 2022, it can be found next to Kokonuts and opposite Rock Bar in Hidalgo Grill and Chubby Cactus’ previous location. Try their cantaritos (a tequila based cocktail similar to a paloma that is commonly served in a clay cup), or another refreshing drink at their swing bar. If you are into Hookah, they also have pipes available to enjoy at one of their on-street dining tables, you can also enjoy something to eat from their food menu, with Mexican birria tacos available as a delicious choice. Michirenita MICHIRENITA Michirenita is a quaint and cozy sports bar, located on the white sand shoreline of Isla Mujeres. This project of love, from a young local lady who recently graduated from her business degree, welcomes locals and visitors alike daily, offering a selection of refreshing cocktails and beers that you can enjoy against the backdrop of beautiful Caribbean views. Michirenita is a hidden gem that allows you to take a moment to sit with your toes in the soft sand, while you sip on a cocktail from their many options, or maybe a beer or two.
