A local's favorite hangout, El Cachirul, located in the mid-island colonia of La Gloria, is one of the cheapest taquerias on Isla Mujeres. Tacos start at just 15 pesos, less than a dollar, while a "queso fundido" (an entire pot of molten cheese served with tortillas - incredibly yummy!) will set you back just $3 USD. With any order you'll be able to help yourself to the salsa and sides bar and fill up your plate. They also serve a selection of desserts, which change daily, and delicious licuados (smoothies). They have plenty of indoor tables to eat-in or take your order to-go and enjoy it sitting on the lagoon opposite this restaurant.
