At Xilak (pronouced chi-lak), they specialise in this wonderful breakfast dish, with delicious options available for you to choose from, including the traditional topping of red or green sauce with cheese; or birria (a stewed beef); 3 sauces; or a hot and spicy option of habanero. You have the choice to add eggs, chicken or beef too.

They also have a menu full of other gourmet breakfast dishes, including omelettes, eggs, burritos, pancakes and French toast, as well as much more, and new options being added. Ask to see if they have any specials, we got a delicious slice of chocolate cake with our matcha latte!

Xilak opened in June 2021 on Isla Mujeres and is located just across from Chedraui, the island’s main supermarket in the middle of the island, on Avenida Rueda Medina. This cute little restaurant is a must try for a gourmet, homemade, authentic Mexican breakfast, and great for a coffee stop before grocery shopping.
