Isla Mujeres Carnival 2026: A Week of Parades, Music, and Island Spirit

Carnival is one of the most anticipated events of the year on Isla Mujeres, and Carnival 2026 is set to bring days of music, dancing, parades, and island tradition from February 12th to 17th. For nearly a week, the island fills with color, parties, and celebration as locals and visitors come together for one of the biggest festivities on the calendar.

This year’s theme is Pirates and Trigüeñas, inspired by Isla Mujeres’ pirate history and the island woman who captured the heart of the legendary pirate Mundaca. The theme blends folklore, island style, and imagination, creating a celebration rooted in local culture with plenty of visual flair.

Throughout Carnival, you can expect parades, dance troupes, live music, and the coronation of the Carnival Kings and Queens. Each evening brings a different theme and atmosphere, making every night feel unique while keeping the fun spirit of Carnival.
