To find out how keep reading …

If you are hoping to celebrate something special during a trip to Isla Mujeres, a birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, anniversary, graduation, or any other special event or party, renting a private boat to celebrate is a wonderful day out for you and your friends or family! With luxurious yachts, and catamarans in different sizes, to accommodate smaller to larger groups, there are various options available that will suit your day out or sunset cruise. So get your friends, and get ready to step on board, pop a bottle of something sparkly, and jump into a day on the Caribbean Sea.

Isla Mujeres is a perfect location for chartering a boat, with its stunning turquoise blue waters and beautiful weather. Earlier this January, I was fortunate enough to go on a sunset cruise with fellow members of the Taste of Isla team on the gorgeous boat, Angela Quetzali. The boat, which is 42 feet in size, and has a great team, provided us with an idyllic afternoon cruise with friends. Here's how the afternoon went...

We began our afternoon boarding at Marina Bartolome, where our host had arranged for refreshing shots from the bar for the entire group. After everyone had boarded and settled in, we set sail on our Caribbean cruise, enjoying the ocean breezes and drinks served by the crew. This is the perfect time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery, with music and good company. During the journey, we passed some of the landmarks of Isla Mujeres, providing us with unique views of the island that are only visible from the sea. It is a fantastic way to see the island. We continued sailing south and turned around at Punta Sur before anchoring nearby, where some of the party decided to brave the cooler winter waters of the Caribbean and jump in for a refreshing swim.

The team on the boat rolled out a ‘Lily Pad’, or a floating water mat, which is perfect for hanging out on when in the water. It can also be pulled in towards the boat, so that those on it can get their drinks topped up, without having to get out.

Some of us were swimming in the water while the rest of us were relaxing on the deck, basking in the warmth of the afternoon sun. The team onboard started serving food, which included ceviche, guacamole, pico de gallo, and delicious Tuna Poke that we had picked up before boarding from Marina Bartolome. This made for a great snack while we were waiting for Mother Nature's most beautiful and daily show - the sunset! On a sunset cruise, you get a front-row seat to witness the sun setting across Cancun, a breathtaking, peaceful experience. Which was followed by more music and dancing on our ride back to the dock.
